We had a great day celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, which included a special visit from the Mayor of Blackburn, Cllr Suleman Khonat.

Each child that completes the daily mile at least 4 times a week is added to a raffle. Every half term children's names are drawn and 24 children are invited to attend Waddow Hall where they will complete a range of activities. This half term they completed team building games and the 'night line' blind folded challenge!
Huzaifah from Oak Class and Aaminah from Rowan Class were runners up in the Blackburn with Darwen Oral Health poster campaign and were invited to Blackburn Rovers for the Oral Health Campaign Launch.
They were awarded their prize of an electric toothbrush from the Director of Public Health, Abdul Razaq and had their photo's taken by a professional photographer.

As part of our Ticket to Ride topic, Aimee from Avanti West Coast trains came to visit EYFS to talk about her role. The children discussed and learnt about journeys, safety, how trains have changed over time, how trains work and how they benefit the environment. Did you know that the Pendolino train travels up to 125mph and can get from Preston to London in 2 hours and 10 minutes?
