21.02.22 International Mother Languages Day
In Chestnut Class as part of International Mother Languages Day we discussed which languages we had heard of. We learnt about why this day is celebrated and also about languages around the world.
We discussed which languages our family members spoke and which languages we spoke ourselves.
We all speak at least two languages - English and Spanish. Some children also speak other languages too!
We created speech bubbles which included the name of a language we speak; the translation for 'Hello' and a picture of the flag of the country where this language is from.
We also created wrist bands to celebrate today and inform others about our languages.
