Summer 1

Walk - We went to the postbox to deliver our letter to King Charles III. I wonder if we will get a reply?

Science - we have been learning about wild flowers and then went on a wild flower hunt around the school grounds.

Oracy - We used a picture of a plant to discuss what we already know about plants. We then went into groups of four to share our ideas. We worked hard to use hand gestures to agree, disagree and build on each others' ideas.

Yusuf has been reading the story 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' so he wrote some invitations for a tea party and invited some of his friends.

Look at our amazing letters that we have written to the king!

Coronation Day - Today we celebrated the Coronation by creating crowns, decorating and eating cakes and writing letters to the new king.

Wake and Shake - to celebrate our new outside speaker, we took part in a whole school wake and shake.

PSHE - we looked at statements and decided whether they were linked to boys or girls. We then discussed our decisions in groups and as a class and finally came to the conclusion that they could be for both. Alot of interesting conversations took place agreeing and disagreeing with each other.

Fantastic Writing - have a look at some examples of our amazing writing in Sycamore Class!

Allotment Trip - we visited a local allotment to see what they are growing and came up with questions to ask to the allotment owners. We are going to go back in July to see how the plants have changed over time.

Eid party - We have a lovely day celebrating Eid with a yummy lunch, pass the parcel, ice cream and a party in the hall!

English - we thought of questions to ask Mr Toad and worked hard to use hand gestures when answering to show his personality.
