Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Your teacher is Miss Barnes.

Our teaching assisstants are Mrs Moosa; Mrs Patel and Miss Parkar.

Class information:

Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Children should come to school in their PE kits with trainers on these days. They can wear their school jumper on top of their PE kit.

Reading books will be given out on a Thursday and returned on a Monday. Children must read with an adult 3 times per week.

Reading records must be signed and dated 3 times per week. Please also talk about the story that your child is reading at home. Discuss what happens and question them to show understanding. This is a vital part of their learning. We are looking forward to seeing the children earn their reading badges!

This half term our topic is The Spirit of Chirstmas. Please click on our newsletter below to find out more.

What are we learning?

We will be learning about the following:

 - addition and subtraction

- multiplication and division

- geometry (2D and 3D shapes)

- time

Our learning will be based around the story: 'The Tin Forest.'

If you have any questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact me through Class Dojo. I am always happy to help in any way that I can.

Thank you,

Miss Barnes

03.11.20 Here are some pictures from our Anti-Bullying workshop. We discussed three types of bullying: Physical, Emotional and Cyber. We acted out different scenes, portraying the characters or both bullies and victims of bullying. We considered their emotions and what we can do to help stop bullying.

22.10.20 In our Golden Time we made SLIME!

14.10.20 In PE we are working on throwing and balancing.

07.10.20 Today we have been learning to recognise the properties of rocks. Can your child tell you what the words 'permeable' and 'impermeable' mean?

30.09.20 We used our rulers to estimate and measure in cm and mm.
