Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Your teacher is Miss Barnes.

Our teaching assisstants are Mrs Moosa; Mrs Patel and Mrs Geloo.

Class information:

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Children should come to school in their PE kits with trainers on these days. They can wear their school jumper on top of their PE kit.

Reading books will be given out on a Monday and must be returned by Thursday. Children must read with an adult 3 times per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

Reading records must be signed and dated 3 times per week. Please also talk about the story that your child is reading at home. Discuss what happens and question them to show understanding. This is a vital part of their learning. We are looking forward to seeing the children earn their reading badges!

This half term our topic is Under Attack. Please click on our newsletter below to find out more.

What are we learning?

We will be learning about the following:

 - number and place value

 - measurement

 - addition and subtraction

 - geometry (2D and 3D shapes)

Our learning will be based around the story: 'A Bear Called Paddington' by Michael Bond. We will create a story and an information leaflet from our learning of this story.

If you have any questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact me through Class Dojo. I am always happy to help in any way that I can.

Thank you,

Miss Barnes
