We have re-launched our Little Daisies Pre School and have a lovely new classroom. The staff have worked hard behind the scenes to make an inviting, stimulating and enabling environment.

This half term the children will experience a range of planned activities and learning experiences, based on our theme of 'Family Fortunes.' We look forward to getting to know your child and tailoring the curriculum to meet their needs and next steps. Look out for our updates and photos on Class Dojo.

Please ensure all of your child's clothing are labelled.

You are welcome to send in some wellies and spare clothing, including socks and shoes. No earrings or jewellery is permitted due to health and safety.

The children have access to outdoors throughout the session, so please ensure they are dressed for the weather.

We offer fruit, milk and water to the children on a rolling snack, meaning the children can access this whenever they feel hungry or thirsty. You don't need to send a water bottle in to Pre-School.

Please send in family photos that you are happy for us to put around the classroom. This will provide talking experiences as well as helping your child to feel comfortable.

Reading

We are very passionate about reading and the benefits it provides for children of all ages. We will change your child's reading book once a week.  In Pre-School the value of reading comes from enjoying spending time with your child, reading the book together. Parents can read the story and ask questions about the events and what can be seen in the pictures, with your child. Once your child has read the book a couple of times with you, encourage them to ("read") tell the story to you.

For more information, please visit the Phonics and Reading pages of our website, via the Curriculum tab.

PE

We do PE lessons in the hall every Tuesday morning. Children also have daily access to carefully planned and purposeful outdoor play. The outdoor provision is a place where our children can be fully immersed in all types of learning, as well as developing their gross motor skills. It offers space and therefore is particularly important to those children who learn best through active movement.

We do encourage that you buy the school PE bag and put spare clothes in it. This is then kept at school, on your child's peg, in case your child needs to be changed. Please name ALL items of clothing and the PE bag.

We will share photographs on Class Dojo of the different activities and learning experiences in our setting.

As well as all of the exciting learning experiences we have set up in the unit, we will carry out Phonics, Literacy, Communication and Language and Maths activities each day.

We look forward to creating memories and learning experiences together over our time together.
