Oak class

Where little acorns grow into might oaks

A very warm welcome to Oak class.

Your teacher is Mrs Harrison, also helping in class are Mrs Gorji and Mrs Kahtir.

We have made a FANTASTIC start to our new school year and the children have settled in and are happy exploring and learning.

This half term our topic is "Home Sweet Home". Please click on the link to read more about what we will be learning in class. (link coming soon)

We will be looking at our own homes and things we might find in them. We will also look at homes that are a bit different like lighthouses and castles.

Along side learning all about numbers to 10, we will begin our phonics lessons. These will take place every day.

Our PE day is Wednesday.

We have a lot to look forward to over this half term !

When we are more settled, we will be giving out homework. Homework will be sent home on a Friday and is to be returned on a Monday.

Reading is so important, and is a focus throughout school. We will change your child's reading book once a week and will label your child's red reading log book with what day your child changes their book. Remember, it is not just about your child reading the book, it is about spending time with your child reading the book together, asking questions about the story and pictures to your child.

We expect the children to read at home to an adult 3 times a week so they can earn reading badges. Children need to read 10 books for a bronze badge, 14 books for silver and 18 books for a gold badge.

If you have any questions or concerns please send a message on Dojo.

A welcome from Mrs Harrison
