Cultural Capital

At Daisyfield Primary School we recognise that for children to aspire and be successful academically and in the wider areas of their lives, they need to be given rich and sustained opportunities. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all our children and provide them with rich learning opportunities. Within each topic experiences are planned to develop their culture capital. Through our curriculum intent, implementation and impact, we ensure that cultural capital is being considered and included.

We recognise that there are six key areas of development that are interrelated and cumulatively contribute to the sum of a child’s cultural capital:

• Personal Development

• Social Development, including political and current affairs awareness

• Physical Development

• Spiritual Development

• Moral Development

• Cultural development

We provide a wealth of enrichment activities which you can view on our Essential Learning Experiences document. In addition to this the school actively promote and take part in funding raising events, sports clubs and competitions and themed days for subjects including for science, languages and computing.
