Welcome to Elm Class
I (Miss Pemberton) will be your class teacher and Mrs Ramzan will be our Teaching Assistant.
PE Days
Our PE day is Wednesday. Children need to have their PE bags in school at all times as changing for their PE lessons in EYFS is an important skill to master.
Homework
Once the children have settled in and are used to their new routines, homework will be sent home on a Friday and will be expected back in school on the following Tuesday.
Reading
All children are expected to READ TO AN ADULT at least THREE TIMES A WEEK.
This is imperative if we are to help out children build their reading comprehension and reading stamina in general.
We encourage the children to keep up with their reading at home and this will be monitored so that the children can then win their Reading Badges.
Class Information - Autumn Term
We will be working extremely hard from September to make sure we are back on track and building on our learning for the most important year yet. Children will get used to the expectations of life in or EYFS reception Class and will have lots of fun along the way.
Our Autumn term topic is "Family Fortunes.'' This topic involves getting to know your child, what makes them special and how they are similar and different to others. We will share photographs on Class Dojo of the different activities and learning experiences in the unit.
What have we been up to in the first half term?
Take a look and see :-)

Happy New Year !
Our Spring term topic is 'Toy Town'. This topic involves learning about different types of toys, what makes them special and how they work. We will continue to add photos of our learning to our class dojo page as well as on the website :-)
Please continue to listen to your child at least three times per week and sign in their red reading diary. Most of the children are now working towards their silver reading badge :-)
Please note that our PE day is now on a Wednesday.
World book day 2022
Take a look at how marvellous our children looked. Maybe the staff didn't do too bad either!!
Weekly Phonics
Each week we will post the weekly phonemes and the video links from our website on Class Dojo. This will help you and your child to correctly pronounce the sounds and the learn the actions, which will support your child in their reading and writing journey.
