We will share photographs on Class Dojo of the different activities and learning experiences in the unit.

As well as all of the fabulous learning experiences we have set up in the unit, we will carry out phonics, literacy and maths activities each day.

Our PE day is Wednesday. Please ensure your PE kit is in school.

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and is to be returned on a Tuesday.

Reading is so important, and is a focus throughout school. We will change your child's  reading book once a week and will label your child's red reading log book with what day we change your child's book. Remember, it is not just about your child reading the book, it is about spending time with your child reading the book together, asking questions about the story and pictures to your child.

We expect the children to read at home to an adult 3 times a week so they can earn reading badges. Children need to read 10 books for a bronze badge, 14 books for silver and 18 books for a gold badge.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please come and speak to one of the adults or send a message on Class Dojo.

We look forward to creating memories and learning experiences together over our year together in Oak Class.

Weekly Phonics

Each week we will post the weekly phonemes and the video links from our website on Class Dojo. This will help you and your child to correctly pronounce the sounds and the learn the actions, which will support your child in their reading and writing journey.
