Next week is our Macmillan Coffee morning!

School Sport/PE Funding

This year we received £9179 to develop PE and School Sport.

The Governors and staff decided that this would be spent to develop swimming, in addition to what is already provided for Year 3 children.

Children in Year 2 and 4 now go swimming too.

  • Water confidence has improved and the number of children moving to the larger pool to swim their length increased
  • 30 out of 40 children in Year 4 achieved their 25m length by the end of the year.
  • All children achieved Level 1 Water Safety.

In the academic year 2016-17 the swimming will continue to be provided for all children in Year 2 and 3.

Money was also spent on providing additional Sport activity daily for children in Key Stage 2  up to the end of Spring Term- this was provided by Absolut Football.

A weekly after school club run by Absolut Football is also funded using this grant. They  met with our School Council to discuss the clubs they would like running across this academic year.

  • behaviour has improved at lunchtimes with more becoming involved in lunchtime sporting activities.
  • Tri - golf, dodgeball, handball, multiskills and olympics activities clubs have been run for for all children across school. The uptake of these places has been high.

The remainder of the Sports Premium is under review. Daisyfield will be addressing the health and fitness of our pupils and encouraging children to be more active.
