Chestnut Class

                  Welcome to Chestnut Class with Miss Pemberton, 

                               Mrs Adam and Mrs Barnes.

  

    In Chestnut class we are determined to achieve the best that we can. We 

       think positively about our work and are ready to learn new things.

 

      Please take a moment to look at what we have been up to in our class.

Understanding Arrays when learning about multiplication

In our topic lessons, we are learning about healthy eating. Mrs Adam, our school cook, let us into her kitchen so we could learn about her job and what she does.

Mrs Calvert is helping us learn about dance in our PE lessons this half term.

We worked in groups to see which foods belong in which food groups.

   

 

      Have a look and see what we have been up to during

                       'Reading Week'.

Children from Chestnut Class shared reading books with children from Oak and Maple class.

A lady from the Lancashire Library Service came to visit. She talked to us about Poetry.

Mrs Gristwood came and read her favourite book to us.

Dressing up day.....Can you guess who is who?

 We enjoyed planning for and eventually making our healthy snack bars.

 Yum, Yum in our tummies.

 Our new topic this half term is about Stone Age people and how they lived.

 We became hunters and gatherers and collected information about the types of food

that they would have eaten.

 Be careful though, as some things were very poisonous!

Chestnut class enjoyed their Gymnastics lesson today.

We had a visit from Hazel Class today. They wanted to share their 'funny' stories with us. We really enjoyed them.

Looking at Stone Age artefacts. We tried to work out what each one was.

Making yummy Easter treats.

Celebrating the Royal Wedding by creating our own masks with crowns. We hope Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoy their special day tomorrow.

We have been learning about forces and magnets. We made our paper clips move using the magnets.

We all had a fabulous time on our class trip to the Museum of Science and Industry.

In our topic work, we have been using maps to locate UK cities.

Well done to Chestnut Class for winning the prize for the most parents signing up for the school app. We enjoyed out treats from Miss Ramsbottom.

We have been carrying out an experiment in Science.

We celebrated Eid by having a party. We were treated to Ice Cream from the Ice Cream van. It was yummy!
