Dream, Believe, Achieve

Spring 1

We celebrated the NSPCC Number Day. We took part in a TTRS competition and completed a Maths activity.

In Science we created our own metamorphic rocks using chocolate. First we cut chocolate into small pieces to represent sediment. Then we squeezed the pieces together to form our version of a sedimentary rock. Next we put the sedimentary rock in the bag and applied heat and pressure. This changed the rocks appearance and structure. This is how we created a metamorphic rock.

In English, we have been reading Stig of the Dump. We have thoroughly enjoyed the text so far. Some children have chosen to read or watch ahead using videos of the story on YouTube! We have written diary entries in the voice of the main character, Barney.

In Music, we have been learning about pentatonic melodies. We created our own melody using musical notation.

In Computing, we have been learning about touch typing. We have been learning to use each finger for different sections of the keyboard in order to improve speed when typing.
