Mrs Uddin will teach Chestnut Class on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon.

PE Days

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday.

Children need to come to school in their PE kit.

They will also need non-black soled trainers for PE.

Homework

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will be expected back in school on a Monday. Homework will be English or Maths each week.

It is also expected that each week children complete the quiz on Accelerated Reader and spend time using TTRS to help consolidate their times table knowledge. 

Reading

All children are expected to READ TO AN ADULT at least THREE TIMES A WEEK. 

This is imperative if we are to help our children build their reading comprehension and reading stamina in general. 

We encourage the children to keep up with their reading at home and this will be monitored so that the children can then win their Reading Badges. 

Summer Term

This half term in Chestnut Class we will be learning about the following things:

English: non-chronological reports, playscripts

Maths: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, shape, decimal place value

Science: light and plants

Art: art & design skills

Computing: information technology presenting - Microsoft Powerpoint 

History: How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain?

Music: Developing singing techniques (theme: Vikings)

PE: Tennis, OAA

PSHE: Relationships, Similarities & Differences

RE: Which rules should we follow? Does everybody follow the same rules?
