Our P.E. day is Thursday. We will be going swimming on a Wednesday afternoon for the Autumn term. Please can children come to school in their P.E. kit on these days.
Children are not allowed to wear any jewellery, loose head wear (such as hair bands) or head coverings during PE lessons.
Willow have had a fantastic time in class so far! They have thoroughly enjoyed reading Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo, developing their reading skills while exploring the exciting story and its themes. They have worked hard to recreate the author's style of using figurative language and really immersed themselves in the emotions of the main character – Will.
In Maths, children have been learning about place value and have worked hard to understand the value of digits within larger numbers. In RE, they have been learning about Hinduism, exploring beliefs, traditions and important aspects of Hindu life.
Willow have also been fascinated by our science, learning about the circulatory system. They have enjoyed discovering how the heart, blood and blood vessels work together to transport oxygen and nutrients around the body. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, curiosity and engagement across all of our learning.
All children are expected to read to an adult at least three times a week. Reading is an important skill and practicing at home helps the children to build their comprehension skills and their reading stamina.
Children choose an AR book to read and must complete the quiz by logging into their account when the book is finished. They will keep their reading book for a maximum of three weeks in which time they must complete it and login to AR to do the quiz. The passmark is 50%.
In order to earn their Reading Badges, the children must read at least three times a week and have an adult sign their Reading Record on three separate occasions. Reading awards are as follows:
Children will be given homework on a Friday via Century Tech or in their homework book. They must complete it ready for Monday. It is important that all children complete their homework as this helps to consolidate their learning in class. Additionally, the children have their TTRS passwords in their Reading Records which they can access at home.
If you have any questions, please message me on Class DoJo and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
