In Hazel Class, the teacher is Ms Ahmad; however, Mrs Hitchen covers the class on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Dadabhai is the class teaching assistant and supports children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Reading:

Home Readers: Children are given AR reading books. They need to be listened to at least three times a week and have their books signed. Please note, if there is no signature, the week will not be counted towards the reading awards. 

• If they have their book signed 3 times for  10 weeks they receive Bronze award.
• If they have their book signed 3 times for  14 weeks they receive Silver award.
• If they have their book signed 3 times for  18 weeks they receive Gold award. 

Once children have read their AR books, they need to take a quiz to assess their understanding of the text. They will need to score at least 80% to get a pass. It is important to make sure that they read it properly with understanding before attempting the quiz.

Homework

Homework will be set on Century Tech. All the children are provided a login for this and a homework book for additional pieces and for jottings to work out answers. Homework will be sent home on Fridays and due back on Mondays. It is important that the children take the time to complete their homework.

The children will also be expected to practice their times tables on Times Table Rockstars each week, knowing their times tables fluently will help the children to succeed in their Maths.
