Trip to Bring Yer Wellies
We went to Bring Yer Wellies in Hoghton to continue our learning about plants. We even got to take our own Lavendar plant home! We learned what a wormery is, made a den in the woods and played some games.

Science
The children have explored the school grounds looking for a range of plants. They then looked closely at different plants, drew them and labelled them. We then learned about the leaves of trees and used an identification chart to find out which tree the leaves belonged to.

Design Technology
For our topic 'wheels and axels', we have created our own 'pull along car'. We cut out the wheels, added the axel and attached some string.

Physical Education
We have been working on our gymnastics skills, focussing on different ways of travelling on the equipment and ensuring that we use 'safe landings' when jumping off them.

Geography
We have been learning about where Blackburn is on a map and used atlases to find different places close to home.

English
We have been working really hard on our reading skills, working together to use our phonic sounds. In pairs, one child is the pointer and the other reads.

Art
In the Spring term, we have been focussing on primary colours and how to mix them together to create secondary colours. We have used a range of artists to inspire our art work. What an amazing job we have done!
