A very warm welcome to Birch and Sycamore class. On this page, you will find information about your child’s learning and other useful class information.

    Reading

Reading serves as the foundation for all your child's learning. It helps to widen their vocabulary and expand their imagination Children are expected to read TO READ TO AN ADULT at least THREE TIMES A WEEK.

This is imperative if we are to help our children build their reading comprehension and reading stamina. We encorage the children to keep up with their reading at home and this will be monitored so that the children can win their reading awards.

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me on dojo or at the end of the school day. We are always happy to help in any way that we can. We will change your child's reading book once a week. Your child will have a red reading log book to record the day we change their book. We expect children to read at home to an adult 3 times a week so they can earn reading badges.

For more information, please visit the Phonics and Reading pages of our website, via the Curriculum tab.

      Homework

Homework is based on what the children hav been learning in school, homework will be set on Century Tech weekly on a Friday and expected to be completed by the Wednesday.
